We have our last shipment of the Summer arriving on Thursday July 22nd and it is packed with over 200 superb Jumbo Tosai from Koi No Yohei and Isa.  The Super Hybrid Sanke are fantastic, with Koi from just £99 to £2695.
Within this shipment we have some of  Yohei and Mamoru Nagasaki's best Super Hybrid Tategoi and although many other Koi promise future growth and therefore greatness, Super Hybrid Koi have a unique Genotype that is not present in any other Koi and it is this that means their growth is not guesswork.
The Hybrid bloodline has come so much in the last three years that these Koi are the best value Koi of any that are available anywhere.
The Koi arriving are pictured below;

After two drags of the net we managed to harvest the Takeda Tosai
that we placed in the grow out pond in early April. These Koi were
over looked by many whilst they were available for sale and were
regarded as Koi with weak Beni and poor Sumi, well not now!
These Koi were selected in Japan for body and skin quality
and this has resulted in only one male, by choosing Koi with
experience and making sure not to buy the pretty ones the
results are no surprise. The Koi looked what they were,
unfinished but potentaily very good if you know what you are
looking at!
I hope anyone who saw these Koi originally and passed them
over as too cheap at £229 may look closer at the Grow Out we
offer in the future. The Koi offered for the grow out are always
of a very high quality. There is no point in putting Koi in the grow
out that have no future. The sole reason for these events is to try
and show hobbyists what to look for.

After the longest delay ever, due to the volcano dust and Japanese national holidays, we finally had a shipment of Hybrid Koi from Koi No Yohei arriving late on Friday night.

Anyway, the Koi will be here to see on Saturday from 9am, all Koi will be available for sale but cannot be bowled.
In addition to the 150 Jumbo Tosai, we have six All Japan Show quality Hybrid Nisai Yamabuki Ogon available. These Koi are the best Yamabuki Ogon available anywhere and have
to potential to exceed 90cm.

Since having to endure the horrendous journey back to the UK it has been an equally difficult job of trying to get the Koi home. Due to the back log caused by the volcano ash cloud our shipments are running a couple of weeks behind schedule. The first shipment should arrive around May 6th.

After a marathon journey home we finally got back to the UK via Lyon in the South of France.
The Koi side of the trip was a great success and you can now find the Koi purchased on the website.

Since we introduced the F3 Koi No Yohei Hybrids to the UK in 2008 we have supplied them to Holland, Belgium, France, Germany, Switzerland, Barbados, Indonesia and now Sweden.
For the last two days we have had the pleasure of meeting Per and Stefan from Sweden, they contacted us a few weeks ago and arranged to come and see some Hybrid Koi. After explaining the history we bowled a few of the Hybrids we have in stock and Stefan and Per were taken by the white skin (as are most hobbyists!).
Infact they were so taken that they have both booked places in the 170 Tonne pond for the Yohei Hybrid Grow Out in June, before we have even announced it and selected the fish!

Koi No Yohei has just won the coveted Grand Champion prize at the Tokai District Koi Show with a 96cm Sanke. This show is one of the largest in Japan behind the Shinkokai All Japan and ZNA All Japan Koi Shows.
Obviously Mamoru and Yohei Nagasaki are very pleased with this and got an extra surprise when thay also took the Super Jumbo prize as well.

The Harvest of the 38,000 gallon pond took place and was a great success. The Koi were in fantastic condition, had grown very well and improved in every way . When you decide to grow Koi in this way the quality you put in the pond is vitally important. We only put top quality Hybrid Koi in this years event and the Koi have not let us down. Full details to follow in the next few days with full measurements and photos.

The temperatures have now dropped and we are now going to Harvest the 'Grow Out' pond on Saturday Oct 17th at 12pm.
All those of you that have purchased one of these Koi are obviously welcome but we would also like to invite everyone else.
We hope to show and explain the developments and traits (Keito) that have now become apparent.
In the 8 weeks or so these Koi have had in the pond there has been significant growth and with that there has also been fundamental changes to the Koi. These were only indicated at their small size, but are now very obvious. It is this kind of development that we can explain with the aid of the original Photos and the Koi itself.
The advantage we have is that there are nearly 50 Koi on view and all have 'before' photos.
It is this type of visual 'hands on' learning that you can only get in Japan, well not any more!!
The Koi will be harvested then kept here for two weeks for acclimatisation , so they can be viewed after the event if you can't make it.

The Harvest of On the same note we are off to Japan in less that four weeks and are putting together a 'wish list' for our customers.
If you are looking for any Koi in particular then please contact us and we can discuss finding them for you.  All Koi sourced are always subject to viewing on arrival in the UK and there is no obligation to buy if the Koi we find is not suitable. By the way, this has never happened!!

The Autumn Harvest in Japan now beckons, it has not been a hot Summer in Japan and there are currently two versions of how this will affect the Harvest; one, is that the cooler temperatures will mean the Koi have fed every day and grown more and two, that the Koi will not have fed enough!

Well only time will tell and needless to say a cool Summer in Japan would rank as a 'Hottest on Record' here!
As it has been cooler the breeders we use are aiming to Harvest slightly later and therefore we won't be travelling until the first week in November.
We are now making our final bookings during the next week and if anyone would like to accompany us please contact us as soon as possible, as we are currently deciding whether to run one or two trips.

netting

Our trips are tailored to our customers requirements, we travel to every region in Japan and our contacts enable us to visit any Koi farm. As a rough guide we intend to visit four main areas;

Chiba for Takachio, Kyowa, Migita and Gonjiro
Niigata for Kyusan, Ononuma, Marusaka, Sakamaki and Hiroi Seiji
Gifu/Aichi for Kondo, Koi No Yohei, Higashi, Koi Doraku, Dainichi and Maruyama
Hiroshima/Okayama for Takigawa, Omosako, Sakai, Tamaura, Takeda and Momotaro.

We think that this covers pretty much every top class breeder in Japan and is a list that cannot be matched!

As a rough guide the trips are run on a pay as you go basis, the flights are just £457 and hotels around £40-50 a night. Plus food and drink.

Please contact us if you have and further questions.

We have only been trading for just over one year, so we know these results are just the start. Most of these Koi were supplied last year so next years list is going to be a lot longer!
